Cookies & storage

Short version: this site stores a handful of essential values in your browser so things like the theme toggle, shop cart, and sign-in work. There are no analytics, no ad networks, and no tracking cookies.

What gets stored

  • theme localStorage

    Remembers your theme choice between visits. Set when you toggle dark/light mode.

  • vflared-shop-cart localStorage

    Keeps your cart contents so they survive page reloads and return visits. Set when you add shop items to your cart.

  • sb-*-auth-token localStorage

    Your sign-in session, so you stay logged in. Removed when you sign out. Set only after you sign in with Google on the shop.

  • vflared-shop-testing-notice sessionStorage

    Stops the popup reappearing during the same browser session. Set when you dismiss the shop testing popup.

  • vflared-cookie-notice localStorage

    Remembers that you saw this notice. Set when you dismiss the cookie banner.

Third parties

Cloudflare sits in front of this site and may set a strictly functional security cookie (such as __cf_bm) to tell humans from bots. It isn't used for tracking.

Google sign-in (optional, shop only) happens on Google's own pages under their cookies and privacy policy. This site only receives your name and email to identify your account. Account, cart, and order data is held by Supabase, the database service behind shop accounts.

Google Fonts serves the monospace font. Font files are fetched from Google's servers without cookies.

Your controls

Everything listed above can be cleared through your browser's site-data settings at any time — the site keeps working, you'll just be signed out with an empty cart and default theme. Signing out on the shop page removes the session entry on its own.
